Personality:At first glance, Kazuya seems like a delinquent; violent, ill-tempered and reckless, and while the reckless part is true, Kazuya is a strong-willed young man with a good heart. Kazuya knows how to keep his cool in a fight, but he gets freaked out when dealing with a member of the opposite sex. If a girl who was either very cute or very sexy were to approach him, he wouldn't be able to form a single word. And if she were wearing an outfit that showed some of her... Uh... Body, Kazuya would instantaneously get a nosebleed, it's severity depending on how revealing the outfit was. Another circumstance that could cause him to lose his cool is if he were in a dark location with no light from anywhere. He has severe nyctophobia and suffers from panic attacks if he stays in dark areas for too long. These panic attacks put Kazuya in a state of madness in which he perceives the people around him, whether they be allies or enemies, as the intruder who had terrorized him and his family years ago, represented as a shadowy figure holding a large knife. In this state Kazuya will use any means necessary to escape this figure.
He is the type of person who is always coming up with some kind of plan. Whether it's a strategy for fighting a specific enemy, or just something to get out of trouble in his daily life.
Background: Kazuya Kotobuki once, like many people in this city, once had a normal life. Well, as normal as it could get for someone who has been accompanied by a manifestation of their own psychic energy for most of their life. For the first half of his childhood, he was able to keep his Stand under control. But when he turned 10, that was the first time his Stand truly appeared. It was the eve of his birthday, back when he still lived with his family in Hokkaido, Japan. An intruder broke into their home after the festivities and terrorized Kazuya and his parents. His father tried to protect his wife and son, but he had been gone for a very long time, and the halls that were once filled with sounds of struggle were now quiet. Kazuya slowly crept through the darkened hall to find the lifeless body of his own father accompanied by a cold feeling at his neck. This cold was from the intruders knife, and once he realized this, Kazuya froze with fear. There was no other thought in Kazuya's mind other than 'Help me! Someone help me please!' Kazuya shut his eyes as a strange breeze flowed through the house, and in an instant, he heard his fathers killer scream in terror. A grey arm reached out above Kazuya's head, sending a gust of wind carrying shards of glass towards the murderer, who ducked just before the shards could slice him to ribbons. The intruder started stammering about Kazuya being possessed by....well... Something, as all he could see was a shape in the darkness, and tried to escape, but his hope of escape was cut short when the intruder himself was cut up by another volley of glass shards. The sight of the body was gruesome, limbs detached, blood coating the walls, but Kazuya did not look at the aftermath. His eyes stayed shut until he passed out and awoke in a hospital bed the next day. Worried about what had happened to her child, Kazuya's mother decided to have her son live with his godfather, Christopher Quartermain, a researcher of paranormal or supernatural events residing in the mysterious city of Maple Lake. For 8 years he has lived under his foster fathers guidance, hardly ever leaving his home due to fear of his Stand's power. As the years went by, however, he became less of a homebody and got into more than a few fights, gaining a reputation as a troublemaker.

The Stand known as Kaze No Kotei, literally meaning "Wind Emperor," has the ability to manipulate the air around it and its user. It can generate a gust of wind to knock the enemy off balance, turn itself and its user into a vapor cloud if they need to run away from a fight and can temporarily levitate its user, either to evade a low-hitting attack, slow down a long fall, or just when Kazuya wants to look cool. With its remarkable speed and strength, it is capable of stopping a car moving at high speed and can quickly outmaneuver multiple enemies when outnumbered. Kaze no Kotei is also capable of manipulating lightning and the temperature of the air around it, but in its current state it is unable to use these powers. This Stand often takes the form of a humanoid mass of clouds with a slender build. As with most Stands, any damage inflicted on Kaze no Kotei will be inflicted on Kazuya as well.
