Character Guide

This section is here to help you build a character and know what's expected of a starting character. Let's start off by going through a brief walkthrough of making a character.

Name: Character's name pretty simple really first and last (Assuming they have both), if your character has another name they use frequently enough that that's what everyone calls them this instead of their real name that could be placed here any other nicknames or the like can be put in quotations, brackets or have their own field.

Age: Pretty simple how many years your character has been around for, try to keep this within reason, if your character looks older than what they really are due to some sort of strange circumstance or species you may want to list that too.

Gender: Male, Female, Other etc

Description: A description of your character's looks hair, eyes, height, weight, build, general clothing that sort of thing, you are free to use an image but please include a short description as well. If you do use an image please do not use anything against site rules or a link that links to anywhere that contains things against site rules.

Personality: Brief blurb about your character's personality, how they act, hopes and dreams that kind of fun stuff, doesn't have to be too crazy long or detailed.

Background: Basically just an account of where your character comes from and what they've been up to up till now remember like with all posts best to keep at a nice medium length nothing too short or that drags on.

Faction: Faction you are a member of. See HERE

Equipment: Anything special your character may own, you don't have to list every outfit but anything that may be useful to your character, important to them, rare, unique or relating to an ability should be listed here (Characters that specialise in weapons and gadgets arsenal of tricks should be listed here.

Abilities Powers, skills you're reeeally good at etc, see the next section for a bit more on powers and weakness'. In addition please try to describe an ability and what it's capable of.

Skills Basically just any more mundane things your character is capable of cooking, research, athletics etc, if it's at a fairly average or above average level it goes here if it's at a really high end or superhuman level it requires it's own ability slot. Please list in point form to simplify things.

Abilities

Abilities are all those things that make your character special the things that landed them in a place like this in the first place. Basically superpowers, magic, skills above and beyond the human norm etc.

What counts as an ability slot
Well anything that fulfills the above criteria but to list some examples things like superhuman strength, peak physical condition, swordmastery, a school of magic, hacking, having a bunch of weapons could all take up an ability slot but let's get into a little more detail.

In addition always keep in mind when making a character this is sort of the beginning of your characters journey in 90% of character's cases and they will not be at full power to begin with but can grow into that power later.

Skill Mastery: Basically being at the top of your field in a single skill, swordmaster, excellent marksman, skillful hacker etc any one of these sort of things could count as an ability of itself, if it's just normal or just a bit above normal it's just a skill.

Magic: Basically one school of magic such as illusion magic or summoning magic, remember you're at the beginnings and won't have anything like calling down high level demons or gods at character creation.

Arsenal: Basically you have a bunch of weapons blades, guns etc, remember the Security won't take you walking around with an assault rifle well so larger weapons like that may have to stay at home unless on a mission or the like unless you have a way of hiding it or summoning it up. Remember like everything your starting out so keep it within reason no walking around with a chaingun at character creation.

Heightened Physical Condition: Basically being in physical shape beyond that of a normal person but not quite superhuman, although with upgrades this can push the limits between human and superhuman. Max starting 800lbs lift, 25mph run speed, as well as other heightened abilities like agility, reflexes and endurance that aren't as easily quantifiable.

Super Strength: Ability to lift things and hit things a lot more powerfully than the normal person, like all superhuman abilities like this requires any natural required secondary abilities (Things that would be needed to operate the power without dying or hurting oneself). Max lift at start 10-20 tons depending on other weakness'

Super Speed: Running really really fast, like all superhuman abilities like this requires any natural required secondary abilities (Things that would be needed to operate the power without dying or hurting oneself). Max run speed at start 1000-1800mph depending on weakness'

Gadgets: Basically use of small gadget items, think like batman or the like, nothing too extreme or weapons just general gadgetry.

Utility Abilities: Several small utility abilities similar to the above gadgets may exist in one ability slot.

Note: More powerful abilities or abilities above the normal starting power may be permitted at the cost of one or more other ability slots depending on the power.

Weakness'

All good characters require some sort of weakness' please list at least two clear weakness' of your character whether physical or mental. Try to make them something that doesn't neccesarily have to be easy to find out but that gives them something that effects them a good amount so in other words no weakness' that will never come up or effect your character in such a neglegable way it's not a problem and especially weakness' that are actually just other strengths in disguise. You may choose to have more than two weakness' and larger worse weakenss' may allow your abilities to be at the higher end of a starting character (See abilities section for more info about this)

Banned Abilities

1. Any form of mind control or anything that allows you to control other Player Characters, if you are given okay by an admin you may gain an ability that gives you VERY LIMITED control of NPCs but again you'd need to have proved yourself responsible enough to have such an ability and get admin approval

2. Any kind of large vehicle/pet basically any ability to summon/use/turn into a mech, giant robot, giant monster etc (anything bigger than a house) will not be accepted due to the damage they are capable of causing in a mostly urban area where we are

3. Time travel, while you can have it as an ability it's kind of pointless having, time travel does not work within city limits and if one were to travel back or forward in time and try to enter the city no time would have passed. You are permitted to have more minor time altering abilities but outright time travel is kind of pointless with those things in place.

4. Anything that makes one un-killable, high regeneration, not aging and high durability are fine but all characters need some way to be killed

5. Anything godlike, really just use common sense anything that makes you immune to everything or allows you high level reality warping is unacceptable
